Kähler is historically very well known and recognized for his ceramic characters. And that tradition takes artist Louise Hindsgavl with her into the work of the Moments of Being series, where she both draws threads back to the artistic story that Kähler is a part of and into the time we are in right now. With the figure Beginnings, Louise Hindsgavl embraces the new beginning. Whether it is motherhood or a new period of time in life, the 23 cm high female sculpture is created for the woman who is a new place in life. The beginning figure shows a woman who holds an infant in her arms, and is of course quite obvious as a gift for the newly-or-baked mother. But the figure is more than that. Beginning is also the figure of the birth attendant regardless of age. Because maybe a new year is also the beginning of a new time period in life? The beautiful, white glazed figure expresses all kinds of beginnings. A new place in life, a new start to your career, a new start with the love of your life, a new start after a course of illness. In short, Beginnings represents the beginning of the next step in life and stands as a symbol of power, care, strength and fighting spirit. Moments of Being is a series of three women's sculptures that, in addition to the beginning, consist of Silent Change and Heavenly Grounded. All figures are shaped in white glazed, matte faience in a simple and classic design, where the rounded shapes are defining for each female figure.
